Forbes’ real-time billionaire list confirms Arnault’s continued reign at the top, where he has maintained his position since February 2024, closely followed by Elon Musk, the visionary behind Tesla.
In a recent development, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos briefly overtook Musk in April 2024 to secure second place. However, Musk quickly regained his position after Tesla shares saw a staggering 15% increase on April 29, 2024, increasing his net worth by $14.5 billion, according to Forbes magazine.

Musk’s recent examination of the electric vehicle situation in China highlights his relentless drive to innovate. Though Musk lags behind Arnault, he has managed to close the wealth gap. Arnault’s net worth is now $209.4 billion, about $10 billion more than Musk.
Still, Arnault’s LVMH suffered a setback last month, when its shares fell and it suffered a $17 billion asset loss. Nevertheless, Arnault’s status as the world’s richest man remains unchallenged

Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who was the richest person in the world for about 30 years, has a net worth of $128 billion, rising from seventh place a month ago to become the ninth richest person in the world.
On May 1, 2024, French woman Françoise Bettencourt Meyers became the richest woman in the world. Her fortune is estimated at $95.4 billion, making her the 15th richest person in the world.
According to Forbes, Françoise’s fortune comes from her ownership of cosmetics giant L’Oreal, which she inherited from her late mother. Her grandfather was Eugène Schouler, the founder of L’Oreal.
